Waterville, ME – Womens Basketball fell short in a conference matchup between the Husson University Eagles and the Thomas College Terriers on January 26th by a score of 80-53.
Thomas College: Overall: (8-11), NAC (5-4)
Husson University: Overall (10-9), NAC (6-3)
How it Happened:
- Husson would take the lead early in the first quarter, but Thomas would answer back with points from Emily Parent and Hana Isahac to cut the Terriers deficit to nine points.
- The Terriers would struggle from the floor in the opening quarter shooting just 15% from the field, while Hussonwould capitalize on the poor run and jump out to a 24-12 lead.
- Brooke Jones and Parent would help the Terriers battle to a standstill in the second quarter with both teams scoring 15 points.
- Husson's big first quarter provided them with a 12 point lead heading into the half.
- Thomas struggled to keep pace with the high scoring Husson team throughout the third quarter, Husson would shoot 42% from the field in the third quarter.
- A small run in the quarter would narrow the lead to 12 but that was the closest the Terriers could get.
- Husson would control the tempo of the game through the fourth quarter outscoring the Terriers 18-10 in the frame.
- This would be more than enough to lead the visiting Eagles to a 80-53 victory.
