Women's Basketball Unable to Keep Pace Versus ENC

Quincy, MA - In the second conference matchup between Eastern Nazarene College and Thomas College in two days, the Terriers couldn't keep pace and fell to the Lions 50-68.

How it Happened:

  • Thomas started the game strong, a layup from Yaribel Pena was followed by a layup and a pair of free throws by Deja Hamilton.
  • Emily Parent would jump in on the action with a three pointer cutting the Lions lead to three.
  • Pena and Hamilton would each add a layup to put Thomas up 16-15 at the end of the first quarter.
  • In the second quarter the terriers lost their rhythm. The first quarter saw the visitors shoot 43% from the field, that percentage dropped to 29% in the second.
  • The Lions would go on a hot streak of their own, shooting 53% in the second quarter.
  • The difference in the percentages helped the hosts take the lead back from the Terriers and gave them a 35-30 lead heading into the half.
  • The Terriers struggles would continue into the third quarter, where they would shoot 7% from the field.
  • Heading into the fourth quarter the Lions held a 55-37 lead. Thomas would respond well in the quarter and battled the final 10 minutes to a standstill, with each team adding 13 points.

Inside the Stats:

  • 11 different Terriers would score in today's game, but what proved costly was a lack of consistent scoring as none of the 11 players broke into double digits.
