Waterville, ME – Men's Soccer was held to a 1-1 draw in their 2023 home opener against the University of New England. The Nor'easters scored late to secure the draw on Sunday, September 3
rd.

How it Happened:
- The first 45 minutes were evenly matched, with both teams combining for a total of two shots.
- Both squads were unable to break each other down, though the action picked up in the second half.
- 15 Minutes into the second half, Harry Clough sent in a cross to Daud Abdi, who touched the ball along to Craig Coventry, who placed the ball into the right side-netting to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Nor'easters didn't give up however, and 10 minutes later Keein Wright was forced to make two saves to preserve the lead.
- The Terriers quickly took back momentum and were able to get three shots off in a span of three minutes, one of which hitting the post.
- In the 85th minute, the Nor'easters were able to tie the game with the goal coming from Harlan Lundgren.
- With only five minutes remaining, neither team could create any chances and the game ended as a 1-1 draw.
- The Terriers ended the day with a total of four shots, compared to the Nor'easters nine.
The Goalkeepers:
Terriers keeper Wright made three saves, all of which coming in the second half.
Nor'easters keeper Ollie Hammond made zero saves. Both keepers played the full 90 minutes.
