Men’s Lacrosse Comes Up Short in Husson Conference Game

Box Score Bangor, ME – Men's Lacrosse traveled to Husson University to play a NAC Conference match up against the Eagles. Thomas ended the game just short, falling to Husson 15-14 after leading throughout the game.

Thomas College: Overall (2-4), NAC (1-2)
Husson University: Overall (6-5), NAC (2-2)
 
How it Happened:
  • The Terriers immediately got on the board in the first quarter with a goal by William Heywood and Assisted by Connor Hamilton
  • After the Eagles added a goal of their own Hamilton got his own goal bringing the score to 2-1 three minutes into the game
  • Before the quarter could end Daniel Macwhinnie added his own goal, assisted again by Hamilton, scored tied 3-3
  • To start the second quarter Nathan Carter recorded the Terriers fourth goal, Hamilton picked up his third assist of the game
  • Sophomore Timothy Worster brought goal five and six and an expanded lead continued by Thomas as Ryan Foster and Macwhinnine made a four goal differential, 8-4 Thomas
  • In the last few seconds before halftime Graduate Student Dominic DeSimone scored goal number nine, 9-5 Thomas
  • Husson was the first score in the third quarter, but Heywood followed with his second goal of the game
  • With Husson creeping up on the Terriers lead First Year Jack Morrill continued the offensive attacking, 11-8 Thomas
  • After the Eagles went on a three goal run to tie the game up at eleven, Worster scored goal number twelve
  • Starting the fourth quarter the Eagles had the lead for the first time during the game and strong effort was made by the Terriers to get the lead back
  • Heywood ended his day with a hat trick as he added goal thirteen with ten minutes left in the game
  • The last goal of the day came from Dylan Brooks leaving the Terriers just short for todays win, 15-14 Husson
 
The Goalkeepers:
Junior Daniel Guarino played the full sixty minutes for the Terriers, making fourteen saves.
 
What is Next:
The next game for the Terriers is on Friday, April 14th at SUNY Cobleskill in New York.
