Thomas Cross County Hosts Terrier Invitational

WATERVILLE MAINE – The Thomas College Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams competed in the Terrier Invitational on Saturday October 14th. The Men's team would race against the University of Maine Presque Isle, Central Maine Community College, and NVU Lyndon and would go on to take 2nd place out of 4 teams. The Women's team would race against York County Community College, Kennebec Valley Community College, and Central Maine Community College, with 3 runners placing in the top 10 runners. 

WOMEN'S XC  

The Women's Cross Country Team had an impressive performance today with Sophomore Maria Protheroe finishing 2nd place out of 14 runners in the Women's 4k race, finishing with a final time of 17:45.8, with an average mile time of 07:08.7. Junior Amanda Winslow would trail right behind her in 4th place finishing with a final time of 19:04.1, and an average mile time of 07:40.3. Sophomore Emma Landry would go on to finish in 6th with a time of 20:18.6, and an average mile time of 08:10.2. First Year Elizabeth Brewer and Graduate Student Kaitlyn Bean would finish in 11th and 12th place, with Brewer finishing with a final time of 24:43.9 and Bean finishing with a final time of 25:21. 

MEN'S XC  

3 Terriers placed in the Top 10 out of 24 total runners in the Men's 6k race, with Junior Matt Shea finishing 2nd with a final time of 22:45.5 and an average mile time of 6:06.2. Junior Owen Hargrove and First Year Aidan Mills would finish 5th and 6th with Hargrove finishing just seconds before Mills. First Year Zachary White would finish in the Top 15 with a 12th place finish finishing with a time of 26:10.02. First Year Evan Thomas would finish 19th with a time of 34:39, and First Year Christian Vachon would finish 22nd with a final time of 38:49.  

What's Next: The Terriers will travel to the University of Maine Presque to compete in the North Atlantic Conference Championship on Saturday October 28th.
