WATERVILLE, Maine - Thomas baseball won both senior day games against NVU-Lyndon on Sunday with walk off singles to improve to 8-6 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contests

Game One: Thomas 4 NVU-Lyndon  3 (9 innings)

Thomas got on the board first, scoring three runs in the second inning. Matt Seymour (Old Town, Maine) singled to center field to score two runs while a ground out by Kyle Gleason (Danville, N.H.) brought home one run in the inning.

The Hornets got one run back in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth inning to tie things up. Both teams were held scoreless until the bottom of the ninth when Seymour singled again, this time to bring Jackson Ladd (Winthop, Maine) home.

Seymour ended the game with three hits and three RBIs in four at bats. Starting pitcher Tony Meza (Los Angeles, Calif.) picked up two hits for the Terriers. He pitched eight innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out three. Jake Lacroix (Berwick, Maine) picked up the win for Thomas, pitching the ninth inning and not allowing any batters to get on base.

The second game featured an offensive battle with the teams combining for 25 hits. The Hornets struck first, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Devin Grindle (Surry, Maine) singled in the bottom of first inning to score Meza.

The Terriers were down 3-1 in the second inning but were able to rally to tie things up. Lucas Harmon (Danville, N.H.) singled to score Austin Stebbins (Farmingdale, Maine) to get the lead back down to one run. Two batters later Harmon scored on an error to get the game to 3-3.

The game continued to go back and forth with both teams' offenses clicking. Thomas found themselves down 7-5 in the bottom of the sixth but again were able to rally, picking up three runs. Grindle kicked things off with a double to right field to score first baseman DJ Cagnina (South Berwick, Maine). The next batter Jarrad Willette (Concord, N.H.) also hit a RBI double to right field to tie the game. Brad Smith (Ellsworth, Maine) helped the Terriers take the lead with a single to right field to score Willette.

Seymour kicked off the bottom of the seventh with a single, Gleason hit a perfect sacrifice bunt to move him to second base. Three batters later Grindle hit a single to right field to score Seymour and secure the important conference win.
