WATERVILLE, Maine - Thomas softball lost 4-3 to the University of Maine at Farmington, a day after beating them in Farmington.  

The Terriers got on the board first when Maddie Rock (Bridgton, Maine) doubled to right center field to bring Kelsey Currier (Cumberland, Maine) home. The Beavers tied things up in the top of the second but Thomas scored one run in both the second and third inning.  

UMaine Farmington pulled ahead in the fifth inning putting three runs on the board, to take a 4-3 lead. The Beavers were able to play shutdown defense for the rest of the game, only allowing two players to get on base in the last three innings.  

Rock led Thomas' offensive efforts with two hits, one RBI, and one run scored. Makayla Panich (Windham, N.H.) also had two of Thomas' six hits. Currier pitched the full seven innings for the Terriers allowing four runs on eight hits, and striking out five on 102 pitches.  

UP NEXT: Thomas hosts Husson University on Saturday in an important North Atlantic conference doubleheader. The first game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
