WESTON, Mass. - Thomas men's tennis was swept 9-0 by Regis College in their season opener on Tuesday.
The Pride set the tone in doubles, racing out to a 3-0 lead.
Jose Afonso (Tenerife, Spain) and
Gabe McPhail (Windham, ME) put up a good fight at #1 doubles but ultimately fell 8-2. The Terriers lost 8-0 at #2 doubles and 8-1 at #3 doubles.
First year
Caleb Daigneault (Cornville, Maine) had the match of the day for the Terriers at #6 singles. He battled hard in the longest match of the day but eventually came up short losing 6-3, 6-4.
Kegan Rodrigue (Auburn, Maine) dropped the first set 6-0 at #5 singles but played much better in the second set, losing 6-4.
UP NEXT: Thomas will travel to Vermont this weekend to play NVU-Johnson on Saturday and NVU-Lyndon on Sunday, with both matches scheduled for 1 p.m.
