Castleton, VT - Women's Basketball is participating in two day Spartan Classic hosted by Castleton University. The Terriers played Castleton in their first game of the Tournament, finishing with a loss of 34-63. Both
Trea Broussard and
Kristina Perry played huge roles in keeping the Spartans from running up by forty.
The Records:
Thomas College: Overall (0-2)
Castleton University: Overall (2-0)
How it Happened:
- The Terriers were the first to get on the board with a two-point jumper by Broussard
- Broussard went on to make one more two and then Perry sunk a free throw to cap the Terriers at 5 points in the first quarter, 5-12 Castleton after the first ten minutes
- Broussard then went on the make nine of the twelve points in the second
- Mia Henderson landed a three with just over a minute left before halftime
- Coming out at halftime it took the Terriers a while to find a groove, but Samantha Fortin was able to get them started after a made free throw four minutes into the third
- Perry and Broussard were able to capitalize on their free throws, but overall the Terriers were unable to successfully grab any additional points, 23-51 Castleton at the end of the third quarter
- With a few good layups from the Terriers and made free throws they were able to expand eleven more points before the end of the fourth quarter, final score 34-63 Castleton
Inside the Numbers:
- The Terrier were able to get eleven of their points by turnovers, eight of those occurring in the fourth
- Fortin was able to get five rebounds on the night, followed by Perry with four
- The Terriers finished 50% on free throw attempts

The Terriers will face off against New England College in Day two of the Spartan Tournament at 1pm on November 13
th.
