FARMINGTON, Maine - Thomas women's basketball (2-11) fell on the road Tuesday night to University of Maine at Farmington (6-7) 70-52.
The Beavers went on a 14-4 run midway through the first quarter and were able to hold their lead the rest of the way. UMF finished the first half with a comfortable 17-point lead.
The Terriers picked up their game in the second half, playing their best offense in the third quarter, scoring 16 points. They had their best showing defensively in the fourth quarter, holding the Beavers to just nine points however they were unable to overcome the deficit.
Senior Anna Piirainen (West Paris, Maine) led Thomas with 14 points while Samantha Fortin (New Gloucester, Maine) and Kaylee Ravagli (Lowell, Mass.) added 13 and 12 points, respectively. Page Brown and Tia Brown had 15 points each for the Beavers.
Next up the Terriers will host Husson on Friday with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Please note that spectators are still not allowed but there will be a live stream and stats for fans.
