WATERVILLE, Maine - Saint Joseph's College (2-0) held Thomas Field Hockey (0-3) to a single goal during a 3-1 defeat.
The Monks played sound defense allowing only three shots on goal during the whole game and were able to capitalize on offense when they needed to. Cailin Seavey opened the scoring for Saint Joe's at the 6:04 mark of the first quarter. Meghan Hil and Megan Mourmouras scored in the second quarter, giving the Monks a 3-0 lead.

Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) scored the lone goal for the Terriers midway through the fourth quarter but the Terriers were unable to build momentum as Saint Joseph's play was too strong.
