WATERVILLE, Maine - The Thomas Men's Soccer team (2-0) reclaimed the Elm City Cup with a 2-1 victory over local rival Colby College (0-1) in front of a large lively crowd.
The Terriers came into the contest having not beaten Colby since 2015 but they did not let that faze them. The match was fast, physical, and each team competed brilliantly.

Colby struck first blood early in the second half when Ethan Franco scored first at 54:07 to put the Mules ahead 1-0. The Terriers responded shortly after with a clever goal by
Stefan Simmons to tie the match at 88:22. The score remained tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation after regular time, forcing the game into overtime.
Each team showed a strong desire to win, but
Hayden Elwell (Readfield, Maine) found the top left corner of the goal on a set piece to seal the overtime win at 109:38. Concluding the game at 2-1 and reclaiming the Elm City Cup. It was the first win against a New England Small College Athletic Conference for every player on the roster.
