LYNDONVILLE,VT - Thomas Women's Tennis beat Northern Vermont Lyndon 8-1 on Sunday in their regular season finale, securing their place in the North Atlantic Conference Championship against Husson.
The Terriers were hot out of the gate only dropping one game in all three doubles matches and they carried that momentum in to singles.
Lauren Smith (Waterville, Maine) won 6-3 6-3 at No. 1
singles while
Magan Williams (Oakland, Maine), Riley Pierce (Watertown, New York), and Renée Rossi (Randolph, Maine) won at No. 2 through No. 4 singles.
Cassidy Hamm (Pittsfield, Maine) won her first set 6-0 but her opponent, Emma Powers, was able to make the second set more competitive. Ultimately Hamm was able to win the second set 6-4 and get the win for the Terriers at No. 5 singles.
UP NEXT
Thomas will face off against Husson for the third time this season on October 2nd at a time to still be determined. The Terriers are 0-2 against Husson this season, losing 9-0 and 8-1. The Eagles will be looking for their fourth straight conference championship.
