BANGOR, Maine – The Thomas College baseball team defeated Husson 6-1 on Thursday in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game.
The Eagles got it going in the third, scoring a run to go ahead 1-0. Thomas evened the score in the sixth when
Bradly Smith (Ellsworth, Maine) drove in a run with a single to notch it at 1-1.
Devin Grindle (Surry, Maine) gave Thomas the lead in the seventh with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-1.
Thomas picked up four insurance runs in the ninth to put the game out of reach. Grindle started it with another sacrifice fly before
Kyle Gleason (Danville, N.H.) scored on an error.
Ryan Kappelmann (Auburn, Maine) scored on a passed ball, then
Austin Stebbins (Farmingdale, Maine) capped off the inning with an RBI single to make it a 6-1 final.
Dylan Copeland (Salisbury, Mass.) pitched the complete game, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out three.
