FARMINGTON, Maine – The Thomas College baseball team fell to UMaine-Farmington 9-4 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Thursday afternoon.
UMF scored twice in the second and three more times in the third to take an early 5-0 advantage. Thomas got two back in the fifth when
Kyle Gleason (Danville, N.H.) hit an RBI single and
Lucas Harmon (Danville, N.H.) scored on a groundout to make it 5-2.
The Beavers pushed their advantage to 8-2 with three runs in the sixth. The Terriers got two back in the seventh when
Jackson Ladd (Winthrop, Maine) scored on an error and
Ryan Kappelmann (Auburn, Maine) came in on a groundout to make it 8-4. UMF got an insurance run in the eighth to take it by a 9-4 score.
Nicholas Howard (Vassalboro, Maine) took the loss on the bump, allowing four earned runs on three hits in 2.1 innings of work.
Evan McLean (Millinocket, Maine) and
Ethan LaChance (Winslow, Maine) each pitched scoreless innings in the seventh and eighth for Thomas.
