LEWISTON, Maine –
Ryan Kappelmann (Auburn, Maine) drove in a career-high four runs while going 3-for-3 on the day to lift the Thomas College baseball team to a 6-2 win over UMaine-Presque Isle in their season opener.
The Terriers got on the board in the top of the third inning when a
Kyle Gleason (Danville, N.H.) groundout brought
Austin Stebbins (Farmingdale, Maine) in to score. Kappelmann drove in his first RBI of the game later in the inning on a single that allowed

After the Owls tied things up 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Thomas answered in the top of the sixth when Kappelmann hit a two-out bases-loaded triple to put Thomas up 5-2.
Aaron Young (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) brought Kappelmann in with a single to give Thomas the 6-2 advantage.
Ryan Scepansky (Blandon, Pa.) allowed two runs on just one hit while striking out three in five innings of work to earn the win for Thomas.
