WATERVILLE, Maine - Thomas Women's Basketball put up a valiant fight against Colby College on Saturday afternoon, ultimately falling 58-45.
The Terriers were able to stick close to the Mules throughout the first half including leading by as many as seven points in the first quarter. Colby was able to whittle down the Thomas lead back to a single point at the end of the first quarter.
They continued to play well in the second quarter, playing stout defense and creating turnover opportunities. With just a few seconds left, Thomas trailed by two points until
Chantel Ouellette (Auburn, Maine) made a layup as time expired in the second quarter and the teams went into the locker room at the half tied.
Colby played their best ball in the third quarter outscoring Thomas 25-9. They shot just under 60% from the field and made an impressive six of seven from downtown. The Terriers were able to make some adjustments in the fourth quarter holding the Mules to just seven points but were unable to really get their offense going.

Kaylee Ravagli (Lowell, Mass.) led Thomas with 19 points and seven rebounds. Ouellette added 13 points while
Anna Piirainen (West Paris, Maine) scored 11 in the loss for the Terriers. Colby was led by Keagan Dunbar with 14 points and Carly Christofori contributed 11.
The Terriers are on hiatus until January 8th when they will travel to New York to play SUNY-Cobleskill followed by playing SUNY-Delhi on January 9th. Their next home game will be on January 14th against NVU-Johnson.
