Men's Basketball slips past a tough University of Maine at Fort Kent team

WATERVILLE, Maine - Thomas Men's Basketball (2-2) squeaked by the University of Maine at Fort Kent (2-5) by a score of 71-65 on Tuesday night. 

For the second game in a row the Terriers got off to a quick start scoring the first 3 baskets of the game. They went into the locker room at halftime with a 12 point over but the Bengals came out in the second half ready to test the young Thomas team. 

UMaine at Fort Kent slowly clawed their way back into the game in the second half, getting their first lead off of a three pointer by Troy Williams, tying the game at 53. The teams continued back and forth and despite being out scored 33-27 in the second half, Thomas was able to hang on. They outscored the Bengals 9-4 in the last three minutes of play

First year standout Sawyer Deprey (Caribou, Maine) led the Terriers with 13 points and seven rebounds and three steals while Trevor Reed (Rockland, Maine) and Lokiron Anda (Portland, Maine) each added 12 points. Brandon Ruaro had 13 points and Julian Hymes had 12 points in the loss for UMaine at Fort Kent. 

The Terriers are off until November 30th when they will travel to Amherst College for a 7 p.m. tip off.
