WATERVILLE, Maine - Thomas Field Hockey won their second overtime game of the season against New England College 3-2 on Friday at home.
The Terriers beat New England College 6-5 on the road earlier this season in overtime.
Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) scored the winning goal less than a minute in the first overtime. The second meeting between these very evenly matched teams did not disappoint.
Thomas led off the scoring late in the first quarter with a goal by
Britney Gregoire assisted by
Julia Reny.
The Pilgrims tied it up in the third quarter with a goal by Mikayla Vincent. The Terriers answered back just 20 seconds later when
Kayci Faulkingham (Belfast, Maine) found the back of the goal cage.
Drea Chin responded in the first minute of the fourth quarter tying it up once again for the Pilgrims. Thomas had their chances in the fourth quarter but were unable to score again in regulation.
Both teams had their chances in the first and second overtime periods but it was another overtime goal for
Britney Gregoire off an assist from her sister
Lindsey Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine) that sealed the victory for Thomas.
The Terriers will travel to Manhattanville on Sunday at noon for their regular season finale. They beat the Valiants 3-1 earlier this season at home.
