Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey squeaks past UMaine Farmington

Waterville, Maine - Field Hockey (4-6) was able to pull out a tightly contested 3-2 win over UMaine-Farmington.

The Terriers came into the game having won six straight against the Beavers including a 4-0 win at Farmington earlier this year. Thomas struck first with a goal by Britney Gregoire (Kennebunk, Maine), assisted by her twin sister Lindsey Gregoire off of a corner at the beginning of the second quarter. UMaine Farmington evened things up four minutes later when Alex Bessey found Abby Pomerleau.

The Beavers got their first lead of the day in the late stages of the third quarter when Gracie Foss found the back of the net but Kayci Faulkingham (Belfast, Maine) answered just 17 seconds later. With time ticking away in the fourth quarter, first year Grace Slenker (Spring Grove, PA) was able to find the back of the goal cage, giving Thomas the win.  First year Brennan Pinto picked up her fourth win of the season, making 8 saves. The win keeps the Terriers undefeated in NECC play and atop the conference standings.
