WATERVILLE, Maine - The Thomas College Men's Soccer team suffered their first North Atlantic Conference loss of the season to rival Husson University 4-nil on Wednesday night.
Husson University's Arni Hreidarsson found the top left corner of the goal in the 25th minute. Ten minutes later, Husson's Jard Bolton found the opposite corner of the goal to give them a 2-nil lead. The Terriers made a strong offensive push before the half expired, but the Eagles were able to keep the Terriers scoreless.
The Terriers started the second half strong, but their momentum was halted by Hreidarsson's second goal of the game in the 49th minute and extended their lead to 3-0. Thomas continued to compete throughout the second half, but Husson's Jahmal Williams scored an unassisted goal in the 73rd minute. Williams' goal secured the 4-nil victory for the Eagles.
Next up the Terriers (8-2) will host the University of Maine, Presque Isle (1-10) on Saturday, October 16 at 4:00 PM.
