Terriers Beaten by Husson on Senior Night

WATERVILLE, ME - The Thomas men's lacrosse team fell to Husson University 16-3 on Senior Night in a North Atlantic Conference contest Wednesday evening from Smith Field.

William Prue, Sheldon Jones and Gershom Renee were the three Thomas seniors honored before the start of the game.

Husson (5-6, 4-3 NAC) got off to a fast start, scoring the first six goals of the game, as Trent Sell and Zack Glazier each scored two. Colby Blondin finally got Thomas (3-9, 2-6 NAC) on the board with 7:57 left in the first quarter, scoring his 13th goal of the season. Brandon Corbo and Jack White ended the quarter with goals for the Eagles as they took a 8-1 into the second quarter.

Thomas was outscored 4-1 in the second quarter, as Bryan Ferris notched the Terrier goal on a man-advantage with the assist by Blondin. It was Ferris's team-leading 21st goal on the season. Sell, Corbo, Glazier and Kevin Nolan each scored once for Husson, who went into halftime up 12-2.

The second half saw just five combined goals scored, with the Eagles scoring four of them. Corbo added two more in the third quarter and Brian Daniels added the other. In the fourth, Kade Strout found the back of the net for Thomas unassisted, his sixth goal of the year. Brandon Bosse put in one more for Husson with 1:47 left to take the 16-3 win.

Corbo went for five goals and four assists, both game-highs to lead the Eagles. Tom Lepage got the win in goal, making seven saves.

Blondin, Ferris and Strout were the goal-scorers for Thomas. Liam Salus started and got the loss in net, making four saves. Connor Lamberton played the second half and recorded 10 saves.

The loss brings the Terriers 2015 season to an end. Thomas concludes the year going 3-9 overall and 2-6 in the conference.
