Box Score WATERVILLE, ME - The Thomas men's lacrosse team dropped their home opener 19-1 to the Castleton State Spartans in a North Atlantic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.
Thomas (0-6, 0-3 NAC) had trouble getting their offensive attack going in the first half, as the Spartans (4-4, 3-0 NAC) limited the Terriers to just three shot attempts. Castleton found the back of the net 10 times as they took a 10-0 lead into intermission.
Colby Blondin scored unassisted with 10:46 remaining in the third quarter to put Thoams on the board. The Spartans scored the last eight goals to close out the game.
The Terriers got solid play out of their goaltenders, as Liam Salus started and played over 35 minutes and notched 11 saves while Connor Lamberton relieved Salus for the final 25 minutes and recorded a game-high 13 saves. Blondin registered one goal and four ground balls.
Zach Davidson and Micky Prozinski each netted three goals to lead the Spartans.
The Terriers will be back in action on Tuesday, March 31 when they travel to take on the Johnson State Badgers at 2:30 PM.
