Box Score 2 LYNN, MA – Thomas College softball had an offensive outburst on Wednesday night, as the Terriers swept both games in a doubleheader versus Fisher College with a combined 35 runs. Thomas won the first game by a score of 21-10, then took the nightcap 14-0.
GAME ONE
Both teams got to the starting pitcher early, as both sides tacked on four runs apiece in the first inning. Thomas added three runs in the second and third respectively to start to pull away from the Falcons. Fisher cut the deficit with a run in the third, and two in the fifth, but the Terriers put up a six run – sixth inning to pull the game out of reach.
The eventual victors added another five runs in the seventh to give them 21 runs, a season-high in the contest.
Freshman Korrie Laren went 4-6 with five RBI, while Courtney Veilleux had a 3-5 performance at the plate.
Faith Robinson recorded the victory in the circle, tossing four innings, while Kelsey Crowe pitched three innings of relief with six strikeouts.
GAME TWO
Thomas scored eight runs in the first inning, and added six in the second in route to a 14-0 romp in the second game. The Terriers held Fisher scoreless with just four hits to their side. Alyssa Eugley went 2-3, adding a grand slam in the second for Thomas' first home run of the season.
Lauren Hachey had a two RBI performance, going 2-2 with two base on balls.
Thomas improves to 5-7 with the victories on the season as they kick off conference play this Saturday at New England College. First pitch scheduled for 1:00 PM.
