Summary

Biography

Malorie enters her second season at Thomas College looking to build on the experience she gained during a successful freshman season.  A gifted athlete, Leclerc will provide the Terriers with some much needed quickness in the backcourt.

Coach’s Comment:  “What I like about Malorie’s game is her ability to play the in between game offensively.  She has the quickness to get by her defender, and then stop quickly and hit the 12 to 15 foot jumper.  This is a part of the game that has been missing from today’s player since the 3 point arc has been implemented.  Malorie spent the off season in the weight room.  With her added strength Malorie should be a great defender and spend many a night on the free throw line.  Even as a Sophomore I look for Malorie to be a leader for us.”

Because of her academic achievements, Leclerc is 1 of 5 members of the Class 2005 to receive the Maine High SchoolTeacher's Scholarship.  Malorie is the daughter of Mark and Brenda Leclerc and is studying Accounting.

As a Frehman:

Leclerc gained valuable experience as a Freshman.  She had the opportunity to learn from 4 year starter Kati Morrell, and Malorie had some huge games helping the Terriers to a 2nd place finish in Maine Athletic Conference play. Malorie was recognized as Maine Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week 2 times during the 2002 season.  Leclerc came into her own late in the season; this was evident by her remarkable play in a double overtime win against conference for UMF.  Leclerc led Thomas in scoring during the overtime sessions.

In High School:

Malorie hails from Winthrop High School, where she was a 3-sport standout excelling in field hockey, basketball, and track. As a basketball player,  Leclerc was a 4 year starter for the very successful Ray Convery at Winthrop.  She was named Mountain Valley Conference Rookie of the Year in 1997, and was recognized as an All-Conference player her Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year.  During her Senior season she was selected to the Western Maine McDonald's All Star team, where she earned MVP honors during the game.
