Summary

Biography

Courtney will begin her third season in a Terrier uniform, coming off a solid Sophomore season.  A gifted athlete, Corbett has the strength and speed to play against anybody in the Sunrise Conference.  Courtney will be counted on to take on the leadership role that has been vacated by the graduation of Kati Morrell and Betsy Pratt.

Coach's Comment: "Offensively, Courtney possesses the ability to shoot the 3, post up, and put it on the floor, which should make her a match up problem for our opponents.  At just 5'9", Courtney plays much bigger, which will give us the ability to play an up-tempo game.  We will need Courtney to provide more of an offensive role this season.  With our ability to dribble penetrate look for Courtney to give headaches to opposing coaches by dominating the offensive backboard.  How well she steps up her game may determine how far we go this season."

Courtney also plays softball at Thomas, where she was named the Maine Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year.  Courtney is the daughter of Reggie and Kophie Corbett, and is studying Sports Management.

As a Sophomore:

Courtney established herself as one of the top rebounders in the league, while starting every game for the Terriers.  Corbett continued to improve her game on the perimeter with the ability to shoot the "3".  She led Thomas in rebounding for a 2nd consecutive season, and through her hard work and leadership she was selected by her peers to serve as team captain for the 2003 season.

As a Freshman:

Corbett provided Thomas with a much needed physical presence during her Freshmen season.  Her ability to play physical, as well as, her quickness enabled Thomas to play an up tempo style.  Courtney continually improved as the season progressed making herself a complete player.  Consistently giving up 3 to 4 inches against opponents, Corbett was still able to lead Thomas in rebounding, while stretching opponent's defense with the ability to shoot from the perimeter.  Because of her hard work, Courtney was recognized by her teammates as the Most Improved player for the 2001 season.

In High School:

Courtney was a 4 year starter at Oxford Hills High School, where she was selected to the KVAC All-Rookie team and was All-KVAC her Senior season.  Corbett was also an All-State softball player at Oxford Hills.
