Thomas College

Ryan Waning joins the Thomas College Women’s Basketball coaching staff following two years serving under Coach Chris Cameron as an assistant at Hermon High School. During his time there, the Hawks were playoff regulars and reached the state championship game in 2021-2022.

Waning’s biggest contributions to the team and staff came as part of an overhaul of the advance scouting department he led, breaking down film and providing detailed pro-style reports on upcoming opponents. Waning provided both players and fellow coaches with insights on trends, probabilities, and likelihoods that may have gone unnoticed previously at a level that was beyond the scope of what any other area high schools were doing.

Waning graduated from the University of Maine in 2007 with a degree in English. He currently resides in Carmel, Maine, with his wife and two daughters.
