In 2018–2019, Coach Doyen was the head assistant on the Lawrence boys basketball team that made a state championship appearance for the first time since 1997. In his first stint at Lawrence, he helped develop players to make 1st Team All KVAC, 2nd Team All KVAC, and 1st Team All KVAC Defensive Team.

After stepping away during the COVID year, Coach Doyen joined his high school teammate, Coach Jay Dangler, at Messalonskee High School as an assistant coach on varsity, helping take the Eagles to a playoff appearance.

Last season, Coach Doyen rejoined the Lawrence Bulldog staff as a head assistant, once again helping to take the Bulldogs to the playoffs as a #6 seed. While at Lawrence, he helped develop a 1st Team All KVAC Defensive Team and Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Coach Doyen played three years of varsity basketball at Lawrence High School under Hall of Fame coach Mike McGee, before enlisting for the U.S. Army.

After enlisting in the U.S. Army, Coach Doyen was deployed to a combat zone in Northern Afghanistan, where he sustained injuries from an IED blast. Once returning stateside, Coach Doyen was asked to join the 1st Combat Aviation Brigades basketball team to compete for the Commanders Cup of Fort Bliss. After a tremendous shooting performance and helping lead the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade to their first ever Commander's Cup victory, Coach Doyen was recruited to play for the Fort Bliss Army Basketball team, where he continued to inspire his teammates with leadership, high energy, and a winning spirit.

Upon discharge from the U.S. Army Coach Doyen attended Thomas College. He currently works at Messalonskee High School in their Behavioral Program and has coached at many camps and clinics throughout Maine.

Coach Doyen currently resides in Waterville with his wife Jasmine and two daughters, Ariyah (11) and Aaliyah (8).
