Summary

Biography

Erin enters her final season in a Thomas uniform.  Look for Lovely to save her best season for last as she will be counted on to lead this group of young Lady Terriers to a 7th consecutive Conference Final Four.

Coach's Comment: "The amazing thing about Erin is her ability to get better every season.  Erin received accolades early in her career, but continued to work on her game to the point where she is considered to be the best scorer in the league.  She has drawn our opponents best defender since she was a freshman, and she continues to add dimensions to her offensive game that make her extremely difficult to defend.  I look for Erin to save her best season for her Senior year."

Erin also plays softball at Thomas, and was named Maine Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in Field Hockey as a Freshmen. Erin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Lovely and is studying Sports Management.

As a Junior:

Once again Erin stepped up her game to lead Thomas to their best ever finish in Maine Athletic Conference play.  Adding the ability to dribble penetrate, Erin become a better rounded offensive player, and provided easy opportunities for her teammates.  She led the team scoring, averaging 15.2 points a game.  Lovely became only the second player in Thomas history to surpass the 1000 point plateau in only her Junior year.  And nobody will soon forget, Lovely performance against UMF.  Erin scored a career high 38 points leading Thomas to a thrilling 104-96 double overtime victory.  She was selected by her teammates as the 2002 Team MVP, and was honored by being named team captain for the 2003 campaign.  For the 2nd consecutive season Erin was named to the All Maine Athletic Conference 1st Team.

As a Sophomore:

Sophomore jinx?  Not for Lovely!  At times during her 2001 season, Erin was unstoppable.  She led the MAC and the entire state in scoring, averaging 18.3 points per game.   A remarkable accomplishment, considering more times than not she drew the opponents best defensive player.  She was named MVP of the Badger Classic at Johnson State scoring 30 points in the final.  Erin scored 25 points in Thomas's first win over Husson College in nearly a decade, including two 3-pointers with under 50 seconds left to play.  She scored a career high 31 in a home win against Mt. Ida.   Saving one of her finest efforts in a Terrier uniform, Lovely scored 27 points during a MAC quarterfinal win against UMM.  She also broke the school record for 3's made in a game with 8 during the quarterfinal.  Erin finished the season with 85 3-pointers, also a Thomas record.  She was named to the All-MAC First Team, finishing as a finalist for Player of the Year.  Erin was recognized by her teammates by being selected team MVP.

As a Freshman:

Erin had one of the best Rookie seasons in Thomas Women's Basketball history.  Erin, at times, carried the offensive load for the young Terriers. In 2 crucial conference games Erin scored a career high 27 at St. Joe's, and then matched it 2 days later at UMPI, where she tied a school record for 3-pointers in a game with 7, helping Thomas clinch a home playoff game.   She led Thomas in scoring with 13.9 points per game.  Through her effort Erin was Recognized by the Maine Athletic Conference as the 2000 Rookie of the Year, as well as, being named to the State of Maine All-Rookie Team.

In High School:

Erin was a 3 year varsity basketball player at Oxford Hills, where she played for Val Brown.  Lovely was a 3 sport standout, excelling in field hockey, basketball, and softball.
