Emily Rock Earns 400th Career Save in Maine Maritime Loss

Waterville, ME - Women's Soccer wasn't able to keep up with Maine Maritime Academy at home on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026. The final score was 0-3 in favor of the Mariners.

How it Happened:
  • Emily Rock was called into action early on in the game, making several saves to keep the score 0-0.
  • The first Terrier chance came in the eighth minute, when a shot from Yaribel Pena went just wide of the net.
  • Both went into halftime still tied, meaning it was anyone's game headed into the second half.
  • Just three minutes into the second half the Mariners were awarded a penalty kick and converted to give them a 1-0 lead.
  • A looping header from Adriana Romero-Hernandez forced a save from the Mariner goalkeeper shortly after.
  • In the 53rd minute a great run and shot from Riley Smith was denied by the right post, nearly tying the game up.
  • Soon after in the 60th minute Rock earned her 400th career save from a loose ball, an impressive accomplishment.
  • Later on the Mariners were awarded another penalty kick, this time in the 83rd minute, and score again to make it 2-0.
  • Less than a minute after the second goal the Mariners scored again, this time from a loose ball, leading to an 0-3 loss for the Terriers.
