Women's Soccer Battles to 0-0 Draw Against St. Joe's

Waterville, ME - Women's Soccer closed out their weekend at home against the Saint Joseph's College of Maine Monk, with the game ending in a hard-fought 0-0 draw.

How it Happened:
  • The Terriers had the first shot on goal in the fourth minute, when Briley Rutledge's shot forced a save from the Monks goalkeeper.
  • Starting in the 21st minute, Terrier goalkeeper Emily Rock was forced to make three good saves in a span of five minutes, denying the Monks from taking a lead.
  • Both teams traded shots for the next 20 minutes, and the final chance of the half came in the 44th minute.
  • A powerful shot from the Monks forced another good save from Rock, taking both teams into halftime tied at 0-0.
  • The Terriers had a much better second half, and claiming most of the possession while also defending well.
  • With both teams braving the cold rain, shots were hard to come by for most of the second half.
  • In the 84th minute the Terriers had their best chance yet, with a breakaway from Riley Smith forcing a fantastic save from the Monks goalkeeper.
  • Rock was also able to secure a save in the final minute, ending the game in a 0-0 draw.
