Men's Soccer Falls to Reigning National Champions #18 Tufts University

Medford, MA - Men's Soccer fell to the reigning NCAA Division III National Champions Tufts University, now ranked #18, on Sunday, September 20th, 2026. The final score was 0-5, but the Terriers managed 12 shots in the matchup.

How it Happened:
  • The Terriers had the first opportunity of the game, but a shot from David Ivarsson went just wide of the goal.
  • Soon after the Jumbos struck first, scoring in the ninth minute to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Just two minutes later the Jumbos found their second of the game, making it 2-0.
  • The Terriers responded well to the goals, generating several shots and even forcing a save thanks to Jeremiah Gomez.
  • For the remainder of the half the Terrier defense held strong, not allowing any goals thanks in part to goalkeeper Jamie Fischer.
  • At halftime the reigning national champions only found themselves up 2-0.
  • In the 50th minute a shot on goal from Adam Elkott forced another good save from the Jumbo goalkeeper.
  • Just seconds later the Jumbos launched a counter-attack, scoring their third goal of the game.
  • In the 63rd minute the Jumbos were awarded a penalty kick, and converted to make it 4-0.
  • Despite some good moments from the Terriers, the Jumbos added another goal, making the final score 5-0.
