Men's Rugby Narrowly Falls in Home Opener Against Bowdoin College

Waterville, ME - Men's Rugby hosted their season opener against Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. After a physical, hard-fought battle, the Terriers couldn't match Bowdoin and fell 15-22.

How it Happened: 
  • After a long back-and-forth battle between both teams trying to work their way up the field, Bowdoin College scored first with a try, putting them up 5-0 in the first half.
  • Later, George Pelter evened the score with a try, but the Terriers were unable to complete the conversion.
  • Aron Harrington continued the scoring with another try, making it 10-5 going into the second half, but could not lengthen their lead with a conversion.
  • Bowdoin came out strong, scoring three tries, two of them being breakaways, and one conversion, pulling ahead of the Terriers 22-10.
  • Charlie Jones managed to score one more try before the game concluded, but it was not enough to gain the lead.
  • The Terriers fell 15-22 as the final whistle blew.

What's Next:
  • The Thomas Terriers travel to Lewiston, ME, to face off against the Bates Bobcats on Friday night, September 25th. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
