Atlanta, GA - Men's Rugby standouts George Pelter, Conor Tierney, and Aron Harrington were selected to the National Collegiate Rugby Rising Stars squad, and traveled with Head Men's Rugby Coach Tony Solis to compete in the annual Rising Stars Championship Tournament.

The tournament was made up of the best first and second year student-athletes from all across the country, across all divisions of NCR Men's Rugby. The teams were separated into the North, East, South, and West, with Pelter, Tierney, and Harrington being key parts of the "North" squad. The team began with a hard-fought 13-5 win against Team South, with Tierney scoring eight of the team's 13 points. The team followed up with a strong 26-12 win against Team East, with Tierney scoring six points (three conversions) to lead the team to a 2-0 record.

To clinch the championship, the team needed one last win against Team West. The team ultimately delivered, winning 43-12 in dominant fashion. Tierney once again scored six points from three conversions and Pelter scored 10 points after two successful tries. For his incredible performances throughout the tournament, Tierney was named the Rising Stars Tournament Most Valuable Player after slotting seven conversions and two penalties, playing a huge role in helping the team's attack. In addition to Tierney's performances, Pelter was the team's leading try scorer, helping the team to a perfect 3-0 record and the trophy.

Men's Rugby will be back in action this spring, when they look to participate in several seven's tournaments across New England.
