Waterville, ME - Women's Soccer was unable to overcome the Plymouth State University Panthers in a home matchup on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026. The final score was 0-1 in a hard-fought defensive contest.

How it Happened:

• The Panthers came out of the gate fast, racking up four shots in the first 20 minutes, one of which needed to be saved by Terrier goalkeeper Emily Rock.
• In the 29th minute the Terriers had their first chance, as a shot from Briley Rutledge sailed just wide of the net to keep things at 0-0.
• Just four minutes later the Panthers struck, scoring on a loose ball from inside the six yard box to take a 1-0 lead.
• Rock was called into action soon after, making four solid saves in the last four minutes to keep it 0-1 heading into the halftime break.
• The Terriers started the second half well, with Riley Smith sending a shot toward the Panther goal that went wide.
• Soon after the Panthers took control again, generating several shots on goal, some requiring saving from Rock.
• In the final 10 minutes the Terriers amped up the pressure on the Panther defense, with several strong runs with the ball into the attacking zone.
• The team was able to earn several corner kicks, but ultimately failed to capitalize, ending the game in a 0-1 loss.
