How it Happened:
- The Terriers looked to generate some momentum early in the 1st quarter, but strong defense from the Mariners kept Thomas off the board.
- MMA closed out the 1st quarter with two unanswered goals, putting the Terriers down 0-2 after fifteen minutes of play.
- Pelletier, Olvera, and Sadie Dorr looked to strike early in the 2nd quarter with shots on net for the Terriers, but would be unable to capitalize.
- The Mariners extended their lead with four straight goals midway through the 2nd to push Terriers deficit to six.
- But a man-up goal from Maria Protheroe just moments later gave the Terriers offense some life, cutting the Mariners lead to five goals.
- MMA added another goal in the following minutes, but the Terriers closed the second quarter on a high note, as Pelletier found the back of the net in the final moments to send the Terriers into halftime trailing 2–7.
- The Mariners continued to pressure the Terriers in the 3rd, adding four goals to extend the Terriers deficit to nine.
- However, a late strike from Olvera assisted by Jorgie Arduini sent the Terriers into the 4th quarter down 3-11.
- The Terriers continued to battle in the 4th, with Pelletier and Olvera scoring back-to-back goals less than 30 seconds apart to make it a 5-11 game with 10 minutes to play in regulation.
- Dorr added onto the Terriers momentum with a goal of her with just over 3 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter.
- But despite the Terriers' best efforts, a late strike from the Mariners in the final minutes ultimately put the game out of reach, handing Thomas a 6–12 North Atlantic Conference road loss.
