Waterville, ME - Men's Lacrosse earned its 4th win of the regular season on Saturday, March 21st, defeating the Gordon College Fighting Scots in a nail-biter at home by a final score of 12-11.
Owen Lyons and
Nicholas Pike led the Terriers offense with nine combined points, while
Hunter Vail and
Ciaran Vizi anchored the Terriers defense with five combined caused turnovers.

How it Happened:
- The Terriers got off to a hot start, scoring two unanswered goals thanks to Wyatt Lyons (assisted by O. Lyons) and O. Lyons to claim 2-0 lead in the opening minutes of the 1st quarter.
- Pike continued to build off the Terriers momentum in the following minutes, finding the back of the net off a Hunter Simpson assist to extend the Terriers lead midway through the quarter.
- However, the Fighting Scots found a response late in the 1st, scoring four goals to claim a 3-4 lead after 15 minutes of play.
- The Terriers continued to battle for the momentum in the 2nd, with W. Lyons (assisted by Jack Morrill) and O. Lyons (assisted by Connor Hamilton) each finding the back of the net to reclaim a 5-4 lead.
- Pike (assisted by O. Lyons) and Morrill closed out the 1st half on a high note for the Terriers, scoring back-to-back goals late in the 2nd to send the Terriers into the half up 7-4.
- The Terriers extended their lead in the opening minutes of the 3rd quarter, taking a four goal advantage thanks to Morrill's 2nd goal of the game.
- But the Fighting Scots found a response with a goal of their own shortly afterward to make it a 8-5 game midway through the 3rd.
- Pike (assisted by W. Lyons) and Simpson closed out the scoring for the Terriers late in the 3rd, but two goals from the Fighting Scots in the final minutes of the quarter made it a 10-7 game heading into the final 15 minutes of play.
- Gordon College looked to flip the momentum of the game early in the 4th quarter, scoring three unanswered goals to make it a 10-10 game midway through the 4th quarter.
- The Terriers reclaimed the lead with just over 4 minutes remaining in regulation thanks to a goal from Pike assisted by Morrill.
- However, the Fighting Scots found a response just moments later to tie the game at 11-11 with just over two minutes remaining in regulation.
- But the Terriers would find an answer late in the 4th, with O. Lyons scoring his 3rd goal of the game just seconds later to put the Terriers up 12-11.
- The Fighting Scots had one final chance in the fourth quarter to force overtime, but a clutch save from Terriers goalkeeper Mike Picard (11 saves) in the closing seconds ultimately sealed the game, as the Terriers held on to secure a hard-fought 12–11 victory over Gordon College at home.
