Thomas Softball Rallies in Game Two to Finish Day 1–1

Kissimmee, FL – The Terriers split games nine and ten of the 2026 Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida. Thomas first fell to Westminster College, 9–1, before bouncing back with an 11–3 win over Carlow University. Both games ended early after five innings.

Game 1 (L, 9–1) – Thomas vs. Westminster College (PA)

  • Westminster struck first, scoring four runs in the opening inning on four hits, including two doubles.
  • Before Thomas could find any momentum, the Titans added four more runs in the bottom of the second inning after three hits, including a three-run home run, along with two Terrier errors.
  • Westminster scored its final run in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 9–0.
  • Thomas plated its only run of the game in the top of the fifth inning. Morgan Duhaime opened the inning with a walk. Isabella Saunders advanced Duhaime to second with a single to left field, and the pair moved up a base on a Titans passed ball. Corinne Vasvary then singled to right field to score Duhaime. However, the Terriers could not add another run, resulting in the 9–1 final.
Inside the Stats:
  • Lillian Noyes got the start in the circle before Brooke Smith relieved her in the third inning. Smith struck out four batters while allowing just two hits.
  • Elisa Gonzalez finished 2-for-2 at the plate.
 

Game 2 (W, 11–3) – Thomas vs. Carlow University

  • Carlow opened the scoring in the top of the first inning, taking advantage of a wild pitch to bring in a run.
  • Both teams were quiet offensively until the bottom of the third inning when Thomas erupted for six runs.
  • Maddy Morris, Megan Oberholzer, and Jennie Whitten each singled to the outfield to load the bases with one out. Emily Rock then singled up the middle to score Morris. Gonzalez followed with a single to bring in Oberholzer.
  • After a pitching change from Carlow, Leah Knight delivered a single to center field that scored both Whitten and Rock. Bella Medeiros then doubled to left field to drive in the fifth and sixth runs of the inning.
  • Carlow responded with a run in the fourth inning on one hit and a Terrier error.
  • The Celtics continued to chip away at the lead, adding another run on a sacrifice fly to center field to make it 6–3.
  • Thomas sealed the win in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring five runs to end the game early. Gonzalez started the rally with her first career triple, followed by a double from Duhaime. Singles by Medeiros and Oberholzer drove in runs eight, nine, and ten. The final run came on a bases-loaded walk by Gonzalez, making the final score 11–3.
Inside the Stats:
  • Oberholzer pitched all five innings, allowing six hits and earning her first win of the 2026 season. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs.
  • Gonzalez finished 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs.
  • Knight went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.
  • Medeiros went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

What's Next:

The Terriers will finish their Spring Games schedule on Friday, March 13, at Legends Way Fields in Clermont, Florida. Thomas will face Nichols College at 1:30 p.m., followed by the University of Wisconsin–Stout at 3:45 p.m.
