Waterville, Maine - Thomas College is proud to announce that Deb Biche-Labbe, who has served as Associate Director of Athletics, has been promoted to Deputy Director of Athletics. This advancement recognizes her exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and deep commitment to enhancing the student-athlete experience.
Biche-Labbe has been an integral part of the athletics department's growth, contributing to major initiatives that support competitive excellence, student development, and community engagement. In her new role as Deputy Director of Athletics, she will assume expanded oversight of departmental operations, strategic planning, and sport administration while working closely with Vice President of Athletics Andrea Thebarge and institutional leadership to advance the department's mission.
As part of this transition, Biche-Labbe will be stepping away from her role as Head Women's Soccer Coach, a position in which she has made a significant and lasting impact. Under her guidance, the program achieved meaningful competitive strides, fostered a resilient and positive team culture, and helped student-athletes excel both on and off the field.
"It has been a tremendous honor to lead the women's soccer program," Biche-Labbe said. "The student-athletes I've coached have inspired me every day. I'm excited to continue serving them—and all our teams—in a new capacity that supports the broader goals of our department and institution."
As Deputy Director of Athletics, Biche-Labbe will play a central role in advancing key departmental priorities and ensuring continued excellence across all programs.
Vice President of Athletics, Andrea Thebarge, praised the move, stating, "Deb's leadership, integrity, and dedication make her an invaluable member of our senior team. Her promotion reflects the confidence we have in her ability to strengthen our department and support our student-athletes at the highest level."
