Men's Basketball Falls in NAC Quarterfinals 79-88

Presque Isle, ME - #6 Men's Basketball was matched up against #3 University of Maine Presque Isle Owls on the road in the North Atlantic Conference Quarterfinals. Despite a strong performance the Terriers came up short, falling 79-88.

How it Happened:
  • The Owls opened up with a 10-2 run, but points from Spencer Minihan and Brady Adams cut the lead to six shortly after.
  • Both teams traded points over the next few minutes, but the Owls took advantage of several threes to make it 23-10 halfway through the first half.
  • A 6-2 run thanks to four points from Nate Hebert made it 16-25 with five minutes to go.
  • A flurry of points from TJ Blackmon and Isaiah Godley over the new few minutes gave the Terriers momentum going to halftime, only being down 30-33.
  • Quick points from both teams saw the Owls take a seven point lead with 16 minutes left to play.
  • A three from Godley with 11:50 left cut the Owl lead back down to three points, making it managable.
  • A layup from Jayden Kim cut the lead to just one, but the Owls continued to press on the gas, scoring several times to take a 72-65 lead with five minutes left.
  • The Owls continued to hang on to the lead, making several clutch plays to put them in a good position heading into the final few minutes.
  • Successful free throws from both teams in the closing minutes meant the Owls walked away with an 88-79 win in the NAC Quarterfinals.
  • Despite the loss the team has an extremely young roster that will look to build upon the experiences of this season.
