Men's Soccer Earns Dominant 4-1 Win Against Husson University

Bangor, ME - Men's Soccer earned a dominant 4-1 win against the Husson University Eagles on the road on Tuesday, October 6th, 2026. The win is a key step for the Terriers as they attempt to eventually secure the #1 overall seed in the 2026 North Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament.

How it Happened:
  • The Eagles started the game well, with two shots in the first minute sailing high of the Terrier goal.
  • 14 Minutes later the Terriers earned the first shot on goal of the game, a save from the Husson goalkeeper from a Cody Robinson shot.
  • In the 26th minute the Terriers were awarded a penalty kick, and David Ivarsson stepped up and scored to give the Terriers a crucial 1-0 lead.
  • Just six minutes later an unfortunate deflection from the Eagles saw them score an own goal, doubling the Terrier lead.
  • With under a minute to go in the first half a good chance resulted in a save from Daud Abdi's shot on goal.
  • Heading into the second half both teams battled for possession, but the Terrier defense remained strong thanks to Max Gilbert, Brynjar Johannsson, Tre Burgess, and Jonatan Holmsteinsson.
  • In the 64th minute Marcus Larsson was able to dribble past an Eagle defender, then blast the ball into the right side of the net to give the Terriers a 3-0 advantage.
  • Less than a minute later the Eagles scored from a spectacular curling shot that found the top right corner, making it 3-1.
  • To wrap up the scoring Jeremiah Gomez was able to dribble by two Eagle defenders and slot the ball into the bottom left corner to essentially seal the game in the 77th minute.
  • The Terrier defense held on to secure a crucial 4-1 conference win against the Eagles.
