Women's Volleyball Falls in Straight Sets Against Fisher College

Brookline, MA - The Thomas College Women's Volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to Fisher College in straight sets (25-18, 25-9, 25-21) Thursday afternoon at Pappas Gymnasium in Brookline, Massachusetts.

How It Happened:
  • Thomas opened the match with strong energy, using kills from Haley Vickery, Lindsay Pool, and Jordan Child to stay even with Fisher through the early stages of the opening set.
  • A service ace from Lindsay Pool and another from Savannah Lopez helped the Terriers build a 13-9 advantage midway through the first frame.
  • Fisher responded with a momentum-shifting run, outscoring Thomas 16-5 the rest of the way to secure the opening set, 25-18.
  • The Falcons carried that momentum into the second set, jumping out to a 7-0 lead behind strong serving efforts and extending the advantage to 14-2.
  • Thomas continued to battle, receiving kills from Addison Lebel, Pool, and Child, but Fisher remained in control and claimed the second set, 25-9, to take a 2-0 match lead.
  • In the third set, Fisher again built an early cushion and eventually stretched its advantage to 20-10.
  • The Terriers refused to back down, mounting their strongest rally of the afternoon.
  • A service ace from Pool, kills from Natalie Roy and Lebel, and strong serving from Lopez sparked a 10-2 run that cut the deficit to just 22-20.
  • Consecutive kills by Roy kept Thomas within striking distance late, but Fisher answered with three of the final four points to close out the set, 25-21, and complete the sweep.
