Cobleskill, NY - Men's Basketball traveled to Cobleskill, New York on Sunday, January 11th to take on SUNY Cobleskill in a North Atlantic Conference match-up. Despite outscoring Cobleskill 33-25 in the 2nd half, Men's Basketball ultimately fell to the Fighting Tigers in a nail-biter by a final score of 58-60.


How it Happened:

• The Terriers got off to a slow start, with the Fighting Tigers taking an 2-21 lead early in the 1st half.
• Points from Isaiah Godley and TJ Blackmon minutes later would get the Terriers back on track.
• Cobleskill would continue to extend their lead midway through the 1st half, but a 10-4 run thanks to Blackmon, Yasmo Mohamud, and Brady Adams would cut the Terriers deficit to just 11 points.
• Both teams would trade points in the final minutes of the half, but the Terriers would find themselves down 25-35 heading into halftime.
• The Fighting Tigers would look to extend their lead in the opening minutes with a quick bucket, but a 7-0 run thanks to Mohamud and Blackmon would cut the Terriers deficit to single digits shortly after.
• The Terriers would continue to build off this momentum in the following minutes, with Godley, Blackmon, Mohamud, and Spencer Minhan each contributing to claim a 44-43 lead with eleven minutes remaining in regulation.
• Both teams would continue to battle for the lead in the following minutes, but the Fighting Tigers would reclaim a 47-52 lead with six minutes to play.
• Payton Mitchell, Godley, and Mohamud would keep the Terriers offense going shortly after, each knocking down key shots to cut the Terriers deficit back to a one possession game.
• The Terriers would make it a two point game in the final minute of the game with clutch baskets from Mohamud and Godley.
• The Terriers would send Cobleskill to the line off an intentional foul with 20 seconds remaining in regulation, and would have one final chance to win the game after a pair of missed free throws from the Fighting Tigers.
• But Cobleskill would ultimately shut down the Terriers offense in the final seconds of play and would hold on to hand the Terriers a heartbreaking 58-60 North Atlantic Conference loss.
