Women’s Volleyball Unable to Bounce Back in Day Two of SUNY Morrisville Tournament

Morrisville, NY – Women's Volleyball fell short in day two of the SUNY Morrisville Tournament, with the final scores against Western New England University and SUNY Poly both being 1-3.
 
How it Happened:
 
Match One – 1-3 VS Western New England University
  • The first set started out with both teams evenly matched, with the Terriers taking advantage of several attack errors from the Golden Bears.
  • The Golden Bears would go on an 8-3 run to end the first set, 25-16.
  • The Terriers were able to respond in a big way, including going on a 6-0 run thanks to two kills from Addison Lebel.
  • Another kill from Lebel ended the set in a 25-19 win for the Terriers.
  • The third set remained competitive, with both teams battling back and forth.
  • Despite good efforts from the Terriers the Golden Bears ended the third set on a 7-0 run and took a 2-1 match lead.
  • The Golden Bears kept pushing, and dominated much of the fourth set, and took it 25-11, making the final match score 3-1.
 
Inside the Stats:  

Match Two – 1-3 VS SUNY Poly
  • The Wildcats started the first set well, jumping out to a 10-2 lead.
  • The Terriers were able to battle back to make it 17-17 after a service ace from Brooklyn Barbeau and a dual block from Marissa Cates and Jordan Child.
  • Despite the comeback the Wildcats took set one, 25-23.
  • The Terriers kept battling in the second set, at one point going on a 5-0 run after kills from Marissa Cates and a service ace from Camille Gibson.
  • Despite the positive runs, the Terriers fell again in set two 20-25.
  • Another close set ensued, with both the Terriers hanging on for a 25-23 set win after a service ace from Ana Romero sealed it.
  • The Wildcats had a strong fourth set, taking it 25-8 and handing the Terriers a 1-3 match loss.

  • Women's Volleyball will be back in action when they travel to take on Colby College on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025. Match time is set for 7:30 PM.
