Waterville, ME – Former Terrier standout student-athlete MJ Rose has been named the Head Women's Volleyball Coach at Thomas College.

Vice President of Intercollegeiate Athletics Christopher Parsons stated "MJ brings a passion for volleyball, a strong commitment to student-athlete development, and a genuine love for Thomas College. Her experience as both a former student-athlete and coach will serve her well as she leads our program into its next chapter."

A two-time First Team USCAA All-American, a USCAA National Champion, and most recently named to the NAC First Team All-Conference, Rose is no stranger to high-level competition. She returns to Thomas after coaching numerous travel and club volleyball teams. Originally from Sonora, California, Rose began her collegiate playing career at Modesto Junior College before being recruited to play for the University of Maine Fort Kent, and eventually competed in Women's Volleyball's first year back at Thomas, where she continued to grow as both a player and leader.

"I'm most excited to share my years of knowledge and experience with our players," said Rose. "I want to sharpen their skills, raise their volleyball IQ, and push them to become the best student-athletes possible. I can't wait to watch their growth and make lasting memories with this team." Rose describes her coaching style as well-rounded, emphasizing not only athletic performance but also the mental, emotional, and social well-being of her student-athletes. Her approach aligns closely with the college's values and mission to support students both on and off the court.

Looking ahead, Rose is focused on building a strong and competitive program at Thomas. "My vision for the Women's Volleyball program is to increase our visibility and support in the community, while helping each player become better every day," she said.

Rose's official start date is July 28th, where she will begin to prepare for this coming fall season.
