Men’s Lacrosse Unable to Overcome Broncos in North Atlantic Conference Loss

Delhi, New York – Terriers Men's Lacrosse would travel to Delhi, New York to take on the SUNY Delhi Broncos in a North Atlantic Conference match up but would be defeated by a final score of 9-25 on Saturday, April 12th.  

Records: 

Thomas: Overall (3-8), NAC (2-1) 

SUNY Delhi: Overall (8-4), NAC (3-1) 

How it Happened: 

  • Timothy Worster would find the back of the net off an Owen Lyons assist in the opening minutes of the first quarter to give the Terriers an early lead 1-0 lead. 

  • The Broncos would respond shortly after, but the Terriers would reclaim the lead with a Wyatt Lyons goal assisted by Worster. 

  • But the Broncos would respond once again, scoring two quick goals to put the Terriers down 2-3 midway through the first quarter.  

  • The Terriers would reclaim the lead once again, with W. Lyons (Connor Hamilton assist) and O. Lyons (Man-Up, Jack Morrill assist) each scoring to give the Terriers a 4-3 lead late in the first quarter. 

  • But after a late scoring run in the first from SUNY Delhi, the Terriers would trail 4-6 after one quarter of play. 

  • The Broncos would take control of the second quarter with a strong scoring run and would put the Terriers down 4-12 at the half. 

  • O. Lyons would score the Terriers lone goal in the third off an assist from his brother W. Lyons, but the Terriers would find themselves down 5-24 after a strong offensive effort from the Broncos. 

  • The Terriers would score four goals in the fourth, with Hamilton (Morrill assist), W. Lyons (Worster assist), and Morrill (x2 unassisted) each trying to give the Terriers life. 

  • But the Broncos would ultimately take control of the remainder of the contest and would hand the Terriers a 9-25 North Atlantic Conference loss. 

Inside the Stats: 

  • Owen Lyons – 2 Goals, 1 Assist, 3 Ground Balls 

  • Jack Morrill – 2 Goals, 2 Assists, 8 Ground Balls, 3 Caused Turnovers 

What's Next:  

The Terriers will look to bounce back on April 15th, traveling to Henniker, New Hampshire, to take on the New England College Pilgrims in a non-conference contest. Opening face-off is scheduled for 4 PM.
