Men’s Lacrosse Unable to Overcome Fighting Scots in Game One of Georgia Trip

Savannah, Georgia – Thomas College Men's Lacrosse traveled to Savannah, Georgia to take on the Gordon College Fighting Scots, but would be defeated by a final score of 5-17 on Thursday, March 13th.  

Records:  

Thomas: Overall (0-4)  

Gordon: Overall (1-2)  

How it Happened:  

  • Gordon would start the first quarter hot, scoring 7 goals in the first quarter.  

  • The Fighting Scots would continue to pressure the Terriers on both ends of the field in the second, scoring 3 goals in the second quarter. 

  • But a goal from Tim Worster assisted by Connor Hamilton, and an unassisted Charlie Foster-Major goal late in the second would get the Terriers on the board heading into halftime.  

  • Gordon would score midway through the third quarter, but the Terriers would respond minutes late with a man-down goal from Wyatt Lyons assisted by Hunter Simpson.  

  • The Gordon offense would continue to pressure the Terriers, scoring six goals in the fourth quarter.  

  • The Terriers would close the fourth quarter out with two late goals, with Owen Lyons finding the back of the net off a Tyler Lydon assist, and W. Lyons scoring his second goal of the game assisted by O. Lyons.  

  • Despite the two late goals, the Fighting Scots would defeat the Terriers by a final score of 5-17.  

What's Next:  

The Terriers will remain in Savannah, Georgia, and will face Savanah College of Art and Design in the final spring trip game, on Friday, March 14th. Game time is set for 4 PM.
