Waterville, Maine - Women's Basketball team opened the 2025-26 regular season on Saturday, November 8th, hosting Elms College in the first game of the Terrier Tip-Off. The Terriers earned a statement win over the Blazers, 65-53, behind a strong performance from
Roxy Dagostino, who led all scorers with 18 points.
How it Happened:

- But buckets from Kaya Loring and Pryelle Kesse-Beda would give the Terriers a 9-4 lead midway through the first.
- The Blazers would pick up the pace in the final minutes of the first quarter with a 9-2 run and would take a 14-12 lead heading into the second quarter.
- But the Terriers would reclaim the lead midway through the second quarter, going on a 7-1 run thanks to Holly Loring, Kesse-Beda, and Roxy Dagostino.
- The Terriers closed out the first half in impressive fashion, knocking down three consecutive three-pointers from Dagostino, Emily Hagerty, and Deja Hamilton, before Kay McLellan beat the buzzer with a mid-range jumper to send Thomas into halftime with a 37-29 lead.
- The Terriers would open the third quarter with an 11-2 run thanks to Hamilton, Dagostino, and Sarah Davis.
- Mykey Avni, (Holly) Loring, McLellan, and Alderman would continue to find holes in the Blazers defense, each contributing to give the Terriers a 57-40 lead heading into the fourth.
- A scoring run from the Blazers midway through the fourth quarter would make it a 58-48 game with 5 minutes to play.
- But a late scoring run and sound defense from the Terriers would ultimately secure the game, as the Terriers would hold on to take a 65-53 win in their first regular season contest of the season.
