Men's Soccer Falls Short in NAC Championship Against SUNY Delhi

Waterville, ME - Men's Soccer fell just short against SUNY Delhi in the 2025 North Atlantic Conference Championship game at home on Saturday, November 8th, 2025. The final score was 2-3 after two overtime periods.

How it Happened:
  • The first half was mostly uneventful, with both teams trading a few shots on goal.
  • Jamie Fischer was forced to make several good saves for the Terriers, including two saves in under a minute 32 minutes in.
  • Both teams went into halftime tied 0-0 and looked to find the breakthrough in the second half.
  • Just 28 seconds into the second half the Broncos scored, giving them an important 1-0 lead.
  • Despite the goal the Terriers turned up the pressure, almost taking over the game.
  • Shots from Shafi Ibrahim, Ordi Bimvy, and Micky Woodrow over the next few minutes all forced good saves from the Bronco goalkeeper.
  • In the 67th minute the Terriers eventually broke through, with a long free kick from Tristan Kjartansson finding the head of Daud Abdi, who scored to tie things 1-1.
  • Just five minutes later a cross from David Ivarsson found the head of Cody Robinson, giving the Terriers a 2-1 lead.
  • The Terriers continued to dominate for the next 10 minutes until a goal from the Broncos in the 86th minute tied things back up at 2-2.
  • A red card shortly after from the Terriers meant they were forced to play a man down for the remainder of the game.
  • Despite the red card both teams ended regulation tied 2-2, meaning overtime was needed.
  • Both teams traded chances in the first overtime, with Fischer collecting one save in the 10 minute period.
  • A shot from Ibrahim that trickled just wide was the final chance of the first overtime period.
  • Nearly two minutes into the second overtime the Broncos had a low shot that found the back of the net, handing the Terriers the 2-3 loss.
  • Despite the loss the Terriers dominated much of the game, outshooting the Broncos 24-9.
