Women's Volleyball Earns Two Wins in UMPI Doubleheader

Waterville, ME - Women's Volleyball defeated the Unversity of Maine Presque Isle Owls in a home doubleheader on Friday, October 31st, 2025. The final scores were 3-2 and 3-0.

How it Happened:

Match One: 3-2 Win
  • The Owls opened up match one with a 7-0 run in the first set, but the Terriers slowly were able to find their footing thanks to kills from Ana Romero, Marissa Cates, and Addison Lebel.
  • The Owls closed the first set on a 4-1 run, making the first set score 18-25.
  • In the second set the Terrier fought hard behind several rallies and digs from Camille Gibson, Ana Romero, and Lindsay Pool.
  • After a late 5-0 run from the Owls, the Terriers would eventually end up on top, winning 25-23 and tying the match 1-1.
  • Both teams continued to be neck-and-neck in the third set, with the Terriers eventually winning 26-24 thanks to several assists from Brooklyn Barbeau and Pool.
  • With the Owls down 1-2 heading into the fourth set, the team shifted the momentum and earned a 25-17 set win, taking the match to a fifth and final set.
  • The Terriers took advantage early on in the fifth set thanks to kills from Lebel, Pool, and attack errors from the Owls.
  • The Terriers scored the final four points, and a good assist from Barbeau and kill from Pool ended the match in a 3-2 victory

Match Two: 3-0 Win
  • After a short break in play, the second match began.
  • Both teams traded points early on in the first set, but a 6-0 run thanks to a kill from Jordan Child and two aces from Pool saw the Terriers take a big lead.
  • An even bigger 8-0 run came later in the set for the Terriers behind several service aces from Romero.
  • Pool ended the set with a kill to earn the 25-21 win, giving the Terriers a 1-0 lead.
  • It was all Thomas early on in the second set, with the Terriers jumping out to a 13-2 lead thanks to several attack errors from the Owls.
  • However, the Owls battled back, making the score 16-19 late in the set.
  • The Terriers would once again come up clutch, scoring the final two points to take a 2-0 lead, 25-22.
  • Despite the momentum, the Owls started off the third set well, jumping out to a 5-0 lead.
  • The Terriers eventually pulled it back, taking a 14-13 lead thanks to kills from Cates and Child.
  • The Terriers used that momentum, eventually earning a 25-22 set win, and a 3-0 match sweep.

  • Women's Volleyball has now concluded their regular season, and with the win have locked in a playoff spot in the 2025 North Atlantic Conference Tournament. Final standings and schedule will be announced at a later date.
